Specialities
Anxiety

Symptoms of anxiety can include excessive worry, difficulty controlling worry, muscle tension, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, racing thoughts, difficulty sleeping, and more. Anxiety can look different from person to person. At Fresh Bloom Counseling, I specialize in anxiety treatment to help you regain, or maybe let go of some, control, and find peace within. My approach is tailored to your unique needs, providing a path towards a calmer and more fulfilling life. Together, we will challenge negative thought patterns, take an inventory of your life, and start incorporating coping skills into your daily life so that you begin to feel some relief.

Stress

Chronic stress is a state of being overwhelmed and pressured long-term that can have a multitude of physical symptoms. Our brains and bodies are trying to protect us when we stress, however, we are no longer running for our lives from predators, yet our bodies keep reacting as if we are. I offer compassionate support for individuals struggling with stress and guide them towards healing and renewed hope. Our therapeutic interventions are evidence-based and will provide you with coping skills to live a life with less stress. We can work together to simplify your life where possible, and build upon the parts of your life you love. Through our work together, you can learn how to re-regulate your nervous system and communicate to your body and brain that you do not need to live in fight or flight.

Burnout

Do you often feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or like you have nothing left to give? It’s normal to feel this way sometimes, but if this has become your norm, there is help here for you. Emily Nagoski, PhD describes burnout as, “the feeling of being overwhelmed and exhausted by everything you have to do while still worrying that you aren’t doing enough. Healing from burnout requires more than self-care strategies. We can work together and teach you evidence-based strategies that have been scientifically proven to help.

Maternal
Mental Health

Motherhood can be so overstimulating and dysregulating. Everyone needs something every moment and they need YOU, no one else. The house, the toy clutter, the boo-boo kisses, the endless meals- you are the glue that holds it all together, a truly beautiful, and exhausting, truth. Navigating your child’s big feelings while quietly wrestling with your own can be difficult and lonely. Together, we can begin to carve out some space for you, to focus on your needs and self-care and replenishment. We are here to offer you support on this beautiful, and sometimes challenging, journey.

Relationships

Positive relationships are integral to our mental health, so it is important that we nourish them. Relationships, however, can be challenging at times, from communication differences to resolving conflict. These tensions can sometimes be more difficult if we were modeled unhealthy relationships while growing up. Therapy can help you explore past relationships, process your childhood, and any other trauma that may be impacting your current relationships. You can also learn new ways of connecting and how to nurture healthy, positive relationships.

Parenting

You have likely heard the phrase, ‘put on your oxygen mask first,’ referring to taking care of yourself before your children. This is annoyingly true, and yet it is so hard to do. There are so many demands on parents and only so much time and energy in a day. Sometimes we snap at our children and lack self-regulation because we are overwhelmed and beyond our capacity. Parents also deserve to be nourished and to feel nurtured. Therapy can help you increase your self-regulation skills and widen your window of tolerance so you can be more present and patient with your loved ones. Some parents also benefit from processing their own childhood, or reparenting their inner child.
